Where did you meet?
Whitney- Michael and I met my sophomore year at Auburn University during homecoming week. My sorority and his fraternity were paired together to work on the homecoming float together. Two of our best friends introduced us and we stayed friends throughout college. We started dating senior year.

How long have y’all been dating?
We have been dating four years.

How and when did Michael propose?
Whitney- Michael proposed on October 19, 2013. He planned a surprise trip to one of my favorite cities, Charleston, SC. The weekend was full of many surprises. He chartered a boat and we went fishing in the Charleston Harbor, and afterwards we went to one of the best restaurants in town. After dinner he took me to the pier that overlooked the city and proposed. It was perfect!

Do either of you remember the specific time you knew you wanted to marry one another?
Both of our stories are summed up with the same thought. We both knew that we wanted to marry each other because of the overwhelming sense of joy that came over both of us just from being together. Probably a year after we started dating we had grown so close, and we had such a sense of confidence in our relationship.

Whitney, what’s one of your favorite things about Michael?
My favorite thing about Michael is that he is the most encouraging and loving person I have ever met. He constantly challenges me to be the best person I can be.

Michael, what’s one of your favorite things about Whitney?
She is such an amazing woman it is hard to name just one thing. I think one of the things that I am most attracted to Whitney is the way that she carries herself. She is a confident, intelligent woman with a heart full of God’s love and she shows that everywhere that she goes. Whitney always challenges me to reach my full potential, and I strive to be a better man because of her.

What are some things y’all like to do together?
Michael: We like doing everything together. A couple years of our relationship were spent living in different cities; this made us appreciate everything from going grocery shopping to going out and playing tennis. We always had to appreciate the time that we had to spend together, and it has helped us to appreciate all of life’s journeys, however big or small.

What was each of yall’s favorite part of the big day?
Whitney: My favorite part of the day was our first look. I was losing it the entire time my sister and I were walking down to the chapel where we fist saw each other. I was overwhelmed with joy that we were finally getting married.
Michael: Seeing Whitney for the first time was amazing. I could not have been more happy than to see the wonderful woman that I was about to marry. Also, the love and support from all of our wonderful friends and family could not have been any better.
